Privacy Policy

Draft — pending legal review

Maths Buddy is a parent-paid KS2 maths product for children in Years 4, 5 and 6. We take children’s data seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code.

Who controls your data

The parent or guardian who creates the account is our point of contact for all data requests. Children use Maths Buddy through a profile under that parent account — they do not hold their own account.

What we collect

  • Parent: email address and account details, handled by our sign-in provider.
  • Child: first name (display name), year group, birth year, chosen interests from a fixed list, and their answers and progress as they learn.
  • We deliberately collect the minimum we need. We do not collect a child’s full date of birth, home address, school, photos or voice recordings.

How we use it

We use this information to run the diagnostic, build a personalised catch-up plan, show you your child’s progress, and keep the service safe and working. We never sell your data, and we do not show third-party advertising in the child experience.

Contacting support

When you contact us through the support form, we use the details you provide to reply, along with limited technical information to help us resolve your query. We do not display internal account identifiers to you.

Your choices

You can view, export or delete your child’s data at any time from your parent account, or by contacting us. We respond to data requests within the timescales required by UK law.
